Yup, that's Sprout . . . the stall tactic expert. When the lights go out she comes up with a million ideas to get to stay up later. Tonight, I flipped off the light and once the darkness settled around us,
"Mommy, my tummy hurts. I think I need to throw up." The first couple times she did this I sprang into action, only to have her tell me that it might take a while . . .
Tonight, I told her, "Your tummy is probably as tired as you are and just needs sleep. You'll feel better in the morning."
She then proceeded to tell me she was hungry, and wanted dinner . . . no, breakfast . . . no, cereal bars and chocolate milk. After being told no, she wiggled around a bit and then told me,
"Mommy, I think my tummy's feeling better." I chuckled and told that that was good. She was quiet for a few moments then says, "I think my finger hurts."
We went through needing water, having the wiggles and several other inventive ideas. Finally, she zonked, after I left because I figured nothing I was doing was working and it was time for her to have some quiet time. She's just too smart for her own good.
